Do we need to say anything at all or can we just let this
amazingly beautiful photo speak for the rose? Roller Coaster
Miniature Rose has a 2 1/2 inch bicolor flat petal rose that arches,
spreads or climbs up to five feet. Bred in 1908 by Samuel McGredy,
Roller Coaster is also known as Minnie Mouse.
Like all roses, miniature roses are sun loving and fairly
drought resistant. Plant in well drained soil and fertilize with an organic fertilizer
spring. We prune out dead canes whenever we notice them and shape the
plant to the height and width we want in fall. All rose petals are
edible if grown organically and make attractive garnishes for salads.
They can be added after cooking to almost any dish. Whole buds can be
used to decorate cakes or other confections. Sample buds should be
pulled apart and inspected for insects before using on food.
Roller Coaster Miniature Rose would make an excellent addition to our Crafter's Herb Garden
Six Pack and to our Edible Flower Herb Garden
