Mentha cv. Basil Mint

Basil Mint

We are not sure how this mint came by its name. It does have a spicy tang mixed with a touch of Peppermint, but we wouldn't exactly call it Basil. It is excellent dried and added to pork or lamb stews. And, it makes a great addition to our Tea Herb Garden Six Packs.

Like all mints, Basil  Mint, should be confined to a pot. Mints grow better in pots with lots of surface area rather than lots of depth. Mints are a great choice for hanging baskets like our 10 or 14 inch Bloom Master Planters, at least for the first year. After that, your mint will need to be divided and repotted with fresh soil each spring.
